    Sorry if this question has been asked and answered previously. When is it best to prune back a Dicentra, it is a horrible yellow colour now and looks rotten in my garden? Many thanks for any responses.

    Yep... chop it down to ground level... it'll be up again next year!

    Also, don't grow it in full sun! I've made that mistake this year with mine, and it's looking quite sorry for itself.

    Absolutely. Dicentra likes fairly shady, moist conditions. I translanted three plants from my dry-as-a-desert front garden to the back garden and they doubled in size in a single season!
