Yes, yes, I know, yet another royal wedding, but someone was going to have to mention it, it might just as well be me. According to the BBC lunchtime news, the engagement is the only thing that's happened in the entire world today anyway.

I'm quite possibly in the minority here, but my first reaction was 'soppy bitch' - with their track record, anyone marrying into that family wants their head examined.

Were it one of my daughters, I'd have felt constrained to point out that she could ignore 'till death us do part' - if your future Father-in-Law (who will one day, be head of the Church of England) can commit serial adultery, then I guess that makes it 'official': that there have been more divorces in that family than she'd see in even the worst soap: that she'd be at the beck and call of her husband's Grandmother and would be expected to spend every Christmas, Easter and heaven knows what with her and the rest of his disfunctional family and observe their traditions. And, if that weren't enough to put her off, the fact that her Father-in-Law (at 62) still calls his Mother 'Mummy' should.

Of course, on the positive side - there will be the nice hefty divorce settlement to look forward to. Not so much a marriage, more a pretty sound financial investment - a damned good rate of interest without the hassle of having to put in any of your own capital. Mmmm, on second thoughts, maybe it's not such a daft idea after all.

    Cynic!

How about looking at the feel good factor it will bring to the country?

I wish them well - not easy to be marrying in full view of the world's media.

I think its great, and i wish them well.

I will be one of the ones over here in Canada who will get up early to watch it, whenever it happens.....its going to be HUGE!!

Hopefully the fact that Kate has been around the Family now for many years, she knows what to expect, I just hope that press doesn't hound her between now, and when the big day happens...but i suspect thats wishful thinking.

She will certainly have many challenges ahead, but I do hope they find the happiness which the Queen has found with Philip and they have many many happy years together. Good luck to them.

I think it is lovely that we are going to have another Royal Wedding and am pleased that through the power of television me and Mr Kandy will be able to sit in the comfort of our homes and watch this great event. After all no other country can do Royal celebrations as well as us Brits and I am sure it will bring some much needed revenue to this country:yez:

I think William and Catherines marriage will stand the test of time because for one thing he hasn't got a mistress on the side like his father had and also he and Catherine are more modern youngsters and will do what they want to do not what the grey suits tell them to do:D

I'm also hopefully going to be on this good earth long enough to see Charles become king and if I am lucky still I might even see William crowned king, and all through the power of Television.

This is all going to be part of our history for future generations to read and learn about:)

Lovely news, but getting a bit - well you know! Thank God for Sky!

However, I do wish them well but to be honest, I give them 2 maybe 3 years. Hope I'm wrong but .....
On the other hand, William seems to be a different cut of the cloth to the other royals.
Something he got from his mum, I expect.

She's very different from the drip Diana. Been to university, not a virgin and living with a long term partner just some of the differences.

Oh yeah, been to university, probably still paying off the tuition fees, good move marrying a royal, he can help out, and of course she must be really clever, mostly at getting pissed.

Who's the long term partner she's living with, anybody know?:skp:

Might have three kids for all we know.:hehe:

I believe she and Prince William live together now! They certainly did at university.
