    Joe Hill was a strong union man a hundred years ago. He was wrongly executed for murder in 1915 and a letter that substantiated his story, written around that time, was found in 2011.

    His death strengthened the union resistance to capitalism. He was a cartoonist and songwriter and a famous song was written about him in 1936 and has been performed by many well known singers. This is my favourite version.



    There have been many songs, poems, stories and plays written about him.

      After a thoroughly distressing, and depressing week, I have got a nice Bacardi by my side and I am working my way through one of the all time best albums of my lifetime - Huey Lewis & The News - Fore!

      And it is on FULL volume on my trusty Denon's so it sounds sublime.

            Ian McCulloch was supposed to be a right prickly so and so wasn't he? I remember how he seemed to tell everyone how great the Bunnymen were and how crap everyone else was in just about every interview. Had a spat with Julian Cope as I recall?

                        There was no denying the brilliance of the Bunnymen, but to dismiss the likes of The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Smiths etc????????
