Nuisance wildlife in garden. Part 3

Not really much of a nuisance, yet!

Some years ago we had two poplar trees growing together. One was dying so we had it cut down to about 4ft. It has gradually been rotting and now something has decided to give it a hand. It is hollowing out the tree!

It has dug a hole right through to the other side and just left the bark there.

and has, also, dug a hole down through another part of the tree

Any ideas what is doing it?

Either a Tasmanian Devil or Mr Badger getting the beetle grubs out. They destroyed a stump I used to pick Oyster Mushrooms from

My own quote.....'Somebody out there hates me!

First the boiler at the weekend, waiting on the bill for that..... and now the tumble dryer, it gave up the ghost yesterday. These things generally go in threes, don't they?

Thanks everyone, you're so kind. :)

I know this might seem odd, but I'm a little amused by it even though it's proving expensive. :) I stood in the kitchen this morning looking at the fridge and chest freezer thinking to myself.....so which one of you is gonna be next, a bit like a guns at dawn situation. :heehee: My freezer is 11 years old and I daren't move that in case it throws a wobbler, the fridge is even older.

And yes..... I know I have a warped mind!

If the tumble dryer has packed up: thank goodness we are getting some "line drying" weather ... and ... if we don't ... and it gets colder ... at least you could use that cold spell to put your frozen stuff outside so it defrosts at a slower rate (?)

It's not what you are dealt, but how you view it ;) ...

... sorry things are a bit fragile in Shea-land at the moment :grphg:

Maybe you'll get lucky Sheal and the third thing will just be something simple like a light bulb. :ideaIPB:

Or something random and unexpected, like a door handle falling off or a woodlouse in your bed.

Maybe we should have a sweepstake among GC members to predict what the third thing will be.

Hope your luck soon changes for the better. :blue thumb:
