        For years we had bad phone and internet, we are a long way from the exchange, had lots of people repair faults in that time, in jan we had more problems ,someone came to fixed it????
        2/3 weeks later more problems, some one came out again to fix it, but this time the fixer was a good un, put the tester that find faults on the line and the first thing he said was that it was a very bad line(rude words was said) to many faults to repair,so he swaped the line for a new one and boy it's a lot faster!!!!!!!!!!!! our internet would drop everyday at 10 past 4 on the dot, now it don't
        also we done line checks on line and it say's no faults, ring to report faults they check again no faults, but when fixer tested the line it was full of faults 2 miles from the house, the fixer even done a line test from his moblie phone and yes no faults, it's so nice to have good internet and phone for a change, but it show you can have a faulty line but it's say's it ok

        It could water on the line @Zigs

          @Jiffy

          Very true, line faults can be very tricky to find.
          One of the reason is that the connections tend to corrode (the line from the exchange to a dwelling is not a single long cable but has many connections along the way).
          These corroded contacts/joins create resistance which varies depending on wind, water and current flowing through the cable and Murphy's law states that when the lines are being tested, the resistance is OK and no fault is reported.

          We had crossed line as well, the line between the green box's had lots of faults and being under ground as well with lots of people going into ditche's and getting stuck and hitting/damaging the cable was the problem
