Foot don't hurt, but it looks like a cooked Lobster, if I didn't know better, i'd think it was sunburn.

Shelved the idea for the Parrafin filled swimming pool.

Dab it with cooled tea bags to take the sting out of it.

The liquid fuel just wont burn at all. In fact if you could some how keep it cool enough to prevent it vaporising, you could actually put a flame out with it, though I'm not suggesting you try it.

A petrol engine ignites the vapour with a spark, as we all know. Diesel is different. A spark alone will not ignite the diesel, even when mixed with air and vaporised, as the spark will not introduce enough heat to ignite the mix in full. Diesel engines exploit another law of physics, that says that if you compress a gas, it will heat up evenly throughout its volume. So it is in fact just the compression inside the combustion chamber that ignites it, as the mix reaches its flash point (the temperature at which spontaneous combustion occurs). This is also why diesel engines are noisy. In a petrol engine, at the point of ignition the mix ignites first at the spark and then a wave front is created as the flame spreads through the mix, so although it seems to be instant, it is not. The fuel mix doesn't all ignite at the same time so you get an evenly increasing pressure wave chasing the piston down the cylinder. With diesel, because the whole mix heats evenly, it all reaches the flash point at the same moment, so you go instantly from no combustion to the whole lot, which consequently knocks more and produces a much more intense shock on the engine. That's also one of the two main reasons why diesel engines have to be built stronger than petrol ones.

Lavender or rosemary oil work. In both, its the same chemical that does the trick, a chemical dubbed rosemarinic acid or, according to wiki, C18H16O8 if you want its proper name:)

It is an anti-inflammatory with very localised effects.

Aloe Vera gel is also good for burns, especially if there is more than a tiny bit of skin damage, as apart from its cooling/healing effects, it dries to form a flexible coating over the burn to help keep moisture in and nasties out.

Tea bags are cheaper and, more often, nearer to hand.

Yes, but @Zigs has already burnt his leg once. I doubt he'll want to pour a cup of tea on it too:)

Disclaimer: CL1 does not endorse the practice of pouring red hot cuppas on one's self, as it may cause localised skin wounds. Sitting on a cup of tea to have a smoke is also not a good idea.

Sitting on a cup of smoke to have a tea, however, is quite a feat

You can certainly put out a cigarette in a open container that has petrol at room temperature without it igniting.
                          Usual disclaimers apply.

And why things like trucks, tractors, diggers and other machinery that need torque over speed and rapid acceleration use diesel, although these days there is so much trickery in diesel engines that they propel cars just as quickly as petrol ones.
