If you have a PayPal account and link it to a credit card you don't have any problem. PayPal use your credit card to take money and give it to whom you specify. The card details don't go to the recipient.

If you're concerned about the safety of your card details at the PayPal end, then I can't help you. I don't worry about credit card problems if I make sure follow the rules, as the card companies don't like too much hassle when sorting things out.

That's the part I worry about.
What I'm going to do in the week is open a totally separate account with no credit facilities, and only a debit card and keep minimal funds in there.
Since debit cards are also either Visa or MC (depending on the bank) I can use it on paypal and if anything goes wrong, my main account is safe.

Yes banks do insure your money against theft and fraud but it takes forever to sort out, this way I don't worry (too much).

I've had three attempted fraudulent attacks on my accounts and I reported them to the banks within an hour of the occurrence. All three occurrences were handled quite well by the fraud departments with my money being re-instated within the hour (one was a large sum). Two of them resulted in arrests.

I used the button at the bottom of the page, it took me to paypal anyway. :phew: I am not concerned with clicking pay with paypal, it does concern me when I have to put all my card details in. :fingers crossed:

I suspect so and if you clear your cookie cache (on the computer not the cupboard :)), then I think it will be a generic one that anyone can use.

During the week will pop down to the bank, open a separate account then use paypal.

@Zigs - I know you have done in the past, but could you PM me the address again please?

Also, would it be worth suggesting that Nathan set up a specific bank account, that the a/c number and sort code could be sent (PM only) to known/proven members to allow us to do BACS transfers direct?
