What's looking good in March 2014

After a couple of days laid low with a nasty bug, meaning nothing got done in the garden, I woke up early this morning feeling vaguely human again for the first time in several days.

It was a beautiful crisp, clear, frosty morning and although I'm not yet back to full speed, I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and took a wander round the garden with the camera and just enjoyed the sights and sounds of a lovely spring morning.

This caught my eye. It's a patch of frost covered oregano, contrasting nicely with a smaller patch of violets next to it.

One of my winter pots, a cornus 'Midwinter Fire' underplanted with ophiopogon nigrescens. There's a self seeded teasel in there too, think I'll leave it there for now.

 

Can't seem to find the daffodil thread at the moment, maybe it got lost in the crash.
I'll put these on here for now instead.

Rosemary - rather like orchid flowers

Peach starting to blossom - I grew this little peach tree from a nut my mother gave me, though I'm not sure if the fruits will come true or not. I think I'll keep the tree even if the fruits are not that nice since its flowers are quite pretty


Rhubarb - This was started from seed last year, I believe that I need to leave it alone for 2-3 years, but my hands are getting quite itchy at the moment

 

Lovely pic, and thanks for the name. I have just bought this Camellia and didnt know the what its called, as all it said was Camellia Japonica on the label..

I love The Range for craft supplies mainly but I have had a few nice plants from there too, love to go rummaging at the back of the shelves and oh am I glad I did today I found this lovely Hellebore labelled as Orientalis red hybrid, well its clearly not red or single as the picture showed but hey I'm not complaining

 

Lovely hellebore Simbad. Agree about the Range, have had a few things from there that were not as labelled, but were lovely plants all the same.

e.g Blue Moon (clearly not) but it's a beautiful, continuous flowering tea rose.

 

Thats gorgeous lost-in-france I prefer it to Blue Moon!! love the frilly edges to the petal and lovely soft colour.
They do look after their plants, they seem to be watering every time I go and eveything looks healthy, I've had a couple of nice euphorbias from there too.
