    Hey guys,

I'm guessing I should have pruned this blueberry bush back before winter.... should I prune any of it now? It's starting to grow, but I'm wondering about the tallest twiggy bit (technical name) - should I leave it or do anything with it please?
    Thanks

It's a little late to prune now really but you might just get away with it...i'd only prune back the tallest stem just to give it a better shape:dbgrtmb:

is there any possibility it could damage or kill the bush if I do?

I'd reduce that tall leader by a half to two thirds. It doesn't look like you'll get much fruit off it this year and by pruning you'll encourage it to bush out lower down.
I very much doubt if you'll do any damage. I cut back a tall stem on one of our bushes two weeks ago.

I have one in a pot still in the greenhouse but in full flower and it crops well. Goes outside later. Takes 2 to move it. As Dave said try to encourage a bush like plant.

They fruit on last years wood so anything you cut off will not fruit this year - but I would whack it to be in line with the rest of the plant. It will not hurt it. Ph is the main thing with blueberries, 5 is about right, so very acidic.

I cut two new long and leggy plants like that to less than half and they are leafing out the whole way and looking very good.
