Can anyone help me name this plant please?!

Hello! I'm new on here but would be grateful if anyone could help me. I remember when I was younger I used to see a certain white flowering plant in nearly everyone's garden and I can't think what it's name was - and now I want one for my own garden! It has silver/grey foliage with white single flowers and was a low growing perennial, and as I say, it was very popular along with plants such as Aubretia.

I have googled to try and find an image of it with no luck so am wondering if anyone on here has any ideas or can also remember a similar plant.
