Freddy, they tend to flower best on pendulous stems, like many climbers.

So, going up wards they just grow, but once they reach the top of the support they start to flower, and hang down.

Its not true all the time, but it is most of the time.

 

I put a query up on the passiflora facebook site and the answer that came back was Passiflora Mixtra , see below.
"I think it is Passiflora mixta.

The first flower for me on Mauve mist, I hope its hardy.

 

So Bob is there a callistemon by the same name?

I will be leaving one out this winter, but keeping a plant in the greenhouse as also.
