Im looking to get a water butt soon.
As i have a pretty small garden i wanted a square/ rectangular one like this that would fit right into a corner

But a 250l one of these has a price tag of £180, smaller ones are not much cheaper. So thats out of the question.
Does anyone know where i can find cheaper versions of these?
I thought about making one.... but one flaw and ill have a swamp to deal with

Never mind.... i was searching the wrong descriptions on ebay.
"water butt" isnt really what these are.
"water/oil/diesel storage tanks" returned better results, with a lot more used listings.
    Used ones for around £30-40

If you get a used one it'll reek of diesel forever :yikes:

You need a sturdy one, ours has taken on a shape of its own since it filled up, probably got 2 ton of water in it now.

Need Loli's Dad to come and empty it out :snork:

Make a VERY sturdy frame and line with a pondliner - never tried it but it would give a perfect fit

Yeah. I though about that... bit nervous about a catastrophic failure though. Especially if the kids are in the garden
          surfs up kids!

We've cut the tops off metal tanks and then lit fires inside to get burn off oil residue (don't try this with plastic ones).
