    Hi All
I have just harbested my first ever garlic. I planted 10 cloves and all appear to have thrived. Some of the bulbs are completely intact, but others appear to have "overgrown" and the cloves have split off from the main set.
    So 3 questions.
Have I left them in too long?
I have strung them together to dry, but there is some soil still in between some of the seperated cloves - do I need to remove the soil (carefully) or can I just leave well alone?
How long do I leave them hanging in my garage to dry?

    Many thanks
    Teressa

No everything you describe sounds normal, I've just harvested mine this weekend, you usually wait till the tops go brown and start to wither.

Its best to get rid of any soil. You can wash it off or leave them out in the rain for a day or so.

You can start cooking with them straight away of course. As long as its dark and cool, they will last for months.
