Solved Flowering plant just now flowering - Weigela

    Our temporary gardener put this in sometime last year and it seems to be doing well. What is it?

    I think it's a weigela. Pretty, but might get big if you don't prune. Not very interesting when out of flower. Why not plant a clematis nearby to ramble through it?

      There is a clematis jackmanii right next to it -- trained up an obelisk. Would be nice if this were a weigela florida, pictures of them look very nice.

      Always wondered: is it pronounced WE-jell-ah? Wa-JAIL-ah?
