Would really appreciate some help again guys, with a pear tree I planted some 6yrs ago ad up until a short time ago has produced really well, but now appears to be slowly dying??
It all began after that really wet summer we had a few years ago, I noticed that off shoots quickly died back, and leaves withered and turned black. This seems to coincide with appearance of fruitlets as of now.
Initially I tied cutting out obvious dead wood, but if I carry on doing this fairly soon I will have no tree left.
Up until the wet summer it produced enough fruit to serve ourselves plus neighbour, now last year I had just four pears and appearances seem to indicate the same will happen this year.
I have read as much as I can but cannot tie down the cause so I would be grateful for any advice Thanks Derek

In fact taking a closer look fresh young leaves begin to curl, some have rust spots, then they very quickly turn brown to black, shrivel up and fall off....similar thing happens to NEW shoots.....have looked up pear scab but doesn't seem to fit the bill. Approx. nine fruitlets have formed on what would normally be many dozen
Need some help with this one or tree is coming down.
