I put this rose in last year and clipped it back in the autumn/winter it has regrown but the leaves mostly all have black spot, I liked the flower on this one and the smell was very fragrant but I'm wondering if it would be best to uproot it. It is a Floribunda margaret merril, as you can see the one next to it is fine.
Apologies for the dodgy camera work it seems I'm as good at that as growing roses!!!

Bred in 1978 and my mum had this always had blackspot , my mum had the name the other way around :snork:

It does respond well to a rose fungicide , also give it a rose feed will help as well .

in the autumn winter clear up all the old leaves and burn them and if possible top dress with manure should be better next year , so I say keep a little longer

Will do I will give it some TLC in the coming weeks and see what happens, I was just worried it may spread to the other rose alongside it as they are quite close.
Thank you for your quick response

Also can I just ask could you see the whole video? it seemed to stop for me, is it a forum rule I may be crossing?

I saw the whole video . I have black spot on an old rose that didn't like that dismal, wet Winter.

Black spot will spread to the other roses if you don't control it. It would be best to remove and destroy all the leaves that are spotted. Yes, this will probably leave it naked but it will return to health. When you use the fungicide, something like 'Roseclear', it would be best to spray the other roses too as a preventative measure.

Please check round the base of your Rose and that's where the spores lay in the soil try and remove just 3 or 4 inches deep of the soil of about 12 inches in diameter,(6 inches either side of your rose.it will be OK,enjoy your day my friend:smile:

Good afternoon Nynhydrin there are some circles in the Rose world that would say no IMHO I I would say yes at the very least it would prevent any water splashing back up on to the canes and help smother the black spot spores;)
