Kedi Gato

As Victoria is at present unable to access GC, she has contacted me about the sad news that Anne (Kedi Gato) her sister and a past member has passed away after a long battle.
As some of you will remember she lived in Gemany and Florida an often sent us fantastic photos of where she lived.

 

That is very sad news.
She often sent me seed from her home in Florida.
She will be greatly missed.

 

A little before my time, although she cropped up in the old threads that I dug out when I joined, but please pass on my condolences to Victoria.

She was a lovely lady.
We used to exchange e.cards......
She was a passionate plant lover and gardener and oozed friendship.

Thank you so much to Clive (strongy) for putting up the announcement of Kedi-Gato's passing, and to Pete, Keith, Ellen, Harry, Fern, Zigs, Pam, Rod, Mum, Marley & Moyra for your caring thoughts. Sis would appreciate that I can assure you ... xx on her behalf.

A special thanks to dear Woo who contacted me by e-mail and sorted my problems out as my e-mail address had changed last week and I got 'lost in the ethernet'.

I just want to say that Sis had suffered for the past two years with cancer of the lung and bones (having been cleared after ten years from having part of another lung removed ... she warned all of your smokers ... ) and was on daily chemo tablets and other therapy. However, whilst in Florida in March it was discovered she had multiple metasases of the brain and was given radiotherapy which did not work. Peter took her back to Germany mid April where she was admitted to hospital, taken off all medication and then transferred to a hospice where she peacefully went to sleep on 17 May age 67. She was not aware of her surroundings nor was she in pain ... such a blessing. xx She is being cremated tomorrow.

Peter will appreciate all your thoughts and blessings as I will pass them along to him as I have to DAG (an ex GC member) who had a craft forum with Sis for several years and were good friends and visited each other and even both families came to Portugal a few years ago together.

Sis will remember you all with fond memories I know.

She and Peter were here last October for Peter's 70th at the river property ... this is the last pic of Sis and I together ... sorry, the pic is crap as I cropped it and it was just as I came out of hospital so not good ... but we are both smiling which is the good thing. xx
