I have some campanula and coronaria i want to dig up, divide and move to a separate bed. Is it too late to do it this spring, or should i wait until Autumn?

Yes I would agree. I suspect that you can probably divide most plants at any time of the year, but they like it less the hotter it gets. If you are talking of Lychnis coronaria - I am not sure if you can divide that. Its very short lived - usually just a biennial. Or do you mean Anemone coronaria?

it is short lived , as Peter S has already mentioned but it has probably self sown from its own seed , save the seed and sow in the spring

It is, yes. Now you'll need to tell me how to harvest the seed! :-)
