Morning Shiney, wiseowl, zigs, loli and the rest of you lovely people.
Just made the most of a lovely morning by having breakfast outdoors but I understand that it will be "batten down the hatches" later.
Retail therapy for us later as well Shiney, Mrs LWW is talking about Harrogate but I fancy somewhere nearer home, I wonder who will win?
    Have a good day all.

      God Morning all,

LIF I knew you would speak up for the continent because you live there but do you never feel that they resent you buying up an old property and renovating it. They all seem to have so much room out there while we are constantly being cramped out of our homeland for others that think we have something better than them. Oh how wrong they are! But then I do live in that part of the South East that is buried forever. It is surprising that you may if you are lucky find some parts of Essex worth visiting, especially Shineyland. But that is more Hertfordshire.

Sorry folks this anaemia is getting to me. I am tired, very tired of the world in general too. Have a good day everyone, Steve. I do hope you get that job. Woo, beautiful flowers. Shiney enjoy your jaunt around with your friends. Loli, sorry you have to pump out again.

      God bless you all.:wub2:

      Morning all

Not speaking up for the whole continent, just the little bit of northern France where I live. They don't resent us buying the old properties because the locals don't want them. They want the new builds to raise their families in and who can blame them. The older properties take years to sell and would fall to rack and ruin completely if we didn't buy them. It's not just Brits, by the way. There are a lot of Dutch and Irish people in the area too.

I'm sorry you're feeling so low :grphg: and hope you feel better and brighter soon.

Enjoy the peace of reading your book in the car Shiney.

Fingers crossed for the next week Steve (that will make weeding interesting :heehee:)

Gorgeous pic of your garden Woo

I'm guessing you're off to Harrogate LWW?

Hope you get your grass cut before it rains Loli. Raining here at the moment but it was so muggy earlier that I'm hoping it clears the air a bit.

Good thoughts to all and hope you have a happy and productive day.

Well, We're back from retail therapying! (I suppose that's better than spelling it 'therapeeing' :heehee:). It didn't start raining until about 11 a.m. then it decided to make a day of it. It's 4.45 now and has stopped again. We're meeting up with other friends tonight for a meal at a pub and there'll be eight of us. I hope it's not too noisy in there as I don't like noise!

When I firtst tried varifocals I didn't like them and still didn't like them three days later when I went back to tell them to change them back to my old lenses whilst they made some more bifocals. I'd already got them to agree that if I didn't like them, they would change them free of charge.

I found the varifocals had too narrow a properly focussed reading section and I had to keep moving my head from side to side. I've never had that problem with bifocals.

They had originally said I should try them for two weeks but I told them that if I can't get on eith them after one day then I would be back. I explained that I expect my lenses to suit me (after all, they're making them especially for me) and not for me to have to suit the lenses!

I find I'm doing the same thing Shiney and it's making me dizzy:rolleyespink:...I got the 'elite' VF as it's supposed to give you a wider reading section but it's not happening..I'll give it a go for a day or two then I can see me going back which they did say would be fine...Would you say the Bi focals are better?

Yes. I find that they are much better (have had them for over 20 years) but it does notice to other people that you have bifocals (I don't care).

You have a much wider reading area but then you have a distinct difference between the reading and distance parts of the lenses. This shouldn't be a problem if they are set in the correct position. Ask them to make the reading part as wide as possible (it depends on the curvature of the lens but you shouldn't have any problem at all).

                  Aloha everyone,

The sun is shining this morning after a wet day and a very sunny evening. Food was excellent last night :blue thumb:

Loli, there is, also, Woo's option of two pairs of glasses but it can be a nuisance trying to remember to keep them with you.

We're going for a long drive today and we'll take a picnic with us. :blue thumb:

                  Have a great day

                  Aloha!

Morning all, hope you are well.

                  @Lolimac and @shiney , glad I don't have to faff about with spec's yet....:whistle:

@moyra hope you feel better son sweetie :grphg:

We never had the thunder storms yesterday, but boy did it rain from about 8am until just after 12pm, then the sun came out and stayed for the rest of the day.

Have caught up with Gardeners World and Beechgrove,, so now it's time for a quick cupper and on with the tasks for the day, hopefully get time for my favourite job of planting up (in the ground or in containers).

                  Have a great day.

Morning everyone, a beautiful morning out there. I have worn varifocals for years with light reactive, expensive but well worth it. I could never get on with bifocals. I think it may be a bit too warm for gardening today apart from watering that is. Do have a good day all, God bless.:wub2:

Morning to everyone and what a lovely sunny morning it is.
I don't envy you with the varifocals Loli, I just couldn't get on with them, or bifocals either, having said that, Mrs LWW wears vari's and loves them. I have to carry round two cases, one for each pair.
Morning to wiseowl, shiney, hairy and moyra, get the sun block on and get out there kids.
