Malibu if you are having milk then ;)

Or, ... warm the milk first, add the Bacardi and call it: Carribean!

See this is why you need insurance - you've not even moved in yet and this lot are planning a rave! Lol!

Hardly!! A true Scot would have weighed up the pro's and con's of manufactured gunk vs natures intended and settled on milk any day of the week!

... unless the manufactured gunk was cheaper to produce  ... in which case, a *true* Scot :dunno: .... would NOT be drinking Bacardi but a single malt! :nonofinger:

:heehee: (and you call yourself an inner Scotsman ... while necking Bacardi? :psnp: ) :loll:

I think you need to be insuring the new building (and thus content too - if there are any there) from EXCHANGE, no??

How exciting - first house! I couldn't sleep while I was waiting for my first house to go through :hapydancsmil:

Someone said to me "it's not a house, it's a money pit" and how right they were :snork:

Obviously you would only buy insurance for a house you legally owned!
The mortgage lender usually demands building insurance as a prerequisite of the lending package. However people tend to either forget about contents insurance or for economic reasons, to wing it without. In a similar position, we was doing work before moving in and had tools swiped - so it was just a friendly reminder as in the excitement and stress of buying your first home, little things can get overlooked, as we learned to our cost.

My point was that I believe (but could be wrong!) that the buyer's obligation is from EXCHANGE not COMPLETION - if so it might be overlooked / not realised at the Exchange point.

Sorry misunderstood your point. Long time since we bought, so cannot remember the point of legal obligation, good point though.

Nah, milk is only used to soften meths, single malt only on its own (as I will be this evening) and Bacardi because we Scots are all Cosmopolitan and International now you know..

                  Thanks All...again!

Yes, insurance is all sorted. Buildings insurance is a legal requirement but the contents is not. Got both sorted though. Just waiting on the solicitor to come back with a date now...

We've exchanged - keys on Tuesday!

In other news I didn't get the permanent job I applied for today, just missed it by 3 points in the interview. Really gutted!

Stick that in your nFrost compendium.

You may have lost by three points, but I have a feeling that the employer is the real loser - better luck next time :)
