Does anyone know what this plant is please? Someone gave it to my husband and he can't remember what he said it was called but he does remember the man telling him it was a come one year go next year or something like that so I wonder if he meant it was biennial???? 2014-06-13 14.31.55.jpg

I see it now, but nothing was there earlier. Perhaps an issue with the site or my ISP. Never mind, as I say can see it now, but still don't have a clue what it is...............:heehee:

If it is a peony Tattiana, you will have to be patient to see it produce blooms. Maybe 3 or 4 years from now,

              Aaah, thank you Pete.
Does that mean it will flower sooner? How nice to have a tree Peony - never had one,
              Jenny

Not really, I've grown one variety from seed and I think it took about four years or maybe five to flower, they do self seed though.

Thank you all for your replies. I have looked at photos of peonies and yes I think you're right. I don't really have the space in my garden to have a plant that isn't going to produce any flowers for years so will it be ok kept in a pot out of the way but in a sunny spot?
