    Hi all,

I've been slowly plugging gaps in a beech hedge that runs around part of our property

I left about 10 bare root trees in a bucket of water, forgot about them, then found them going crazy! I've potted 5 on and placed them where the gap in the hedge is but now I'm thinking plant them or leave them...?? Any ideas?

    Cheers!!

Plant them, and keep well watered.

Either way, they look happy enough for now. It's so bloomin' dry that you'll get blisters just trying to dig holes. If it were me, I'd wait 'til Autumn,

If they are "growing on" in their containers ( keep them well watered thru' Summer), you would just knock 'em out and plant in a hole as deep as their current soil level,

Just a thought Paul. Do you really want to plant five trees that close together? You have to think about their overall mature height and spread as well as root cramping.
