Could anyone ID these plants that were in my garden when I moved in?

    Thanks!

    1) ? (but there's some Yellow Archangel amongst it)

    2) Heuchera (with Columbine behind and the weed Goose Grass creeping through them - get it out before it seeds)

Thanks! The Goose Grass is already gone thankfully! Hate that stuff..

Regarding the first one, I'll try to get a photo when it flowers. I can never remember seeing it in flower and was thinking of removing it but I'll hang on and see what it does.

      Thanks again

Here's another picture taken yesterday. Does this help the id at all?

Agree with the expert (Silver Surfer!) in that the other herbaceous plant is very likely to be a red/pink Phlox. White Phlox don't tend to have the reddish new growth. Lysimachia can be a bit of a thug but nice and easy and fills a gap until you perhaps decide on something a little more exciting. There is also a variegated Lysimachia which isn't so rampant and has quite attractive tinged pink variegated foliage.

              Thanks so much!

I know what you mean about it being a bit of a thug, there's quite a lot of it around the garden and I've already dug a load up.

Might try to remove that from the Phlox to give the Phlox a bit of space. Assuming it is Phlox that is - I'll send more pictures when it flowers

              Thanks again folks.
