Hi, I have recently uprooted about 10 palm trees from my garden, and there ridiculously sized root, the garden was neglected, now overgrown, and like a Jungle, I've cut down all grass and weeds me want to get it cultivated and level, but first I want to kill all that's on it, grass and all.. What is the best weedkiller, and once all is killed, hoe long before it can be reseeded? Thank you...

When I done mine I used roundup. The type that you dilute yourself. I left if for about 2 weeks I think and then rotorvated it., raked all the junk out and leveled and reseeded.

As Rusty said, except that I would re-spray a second time, after two weeks, for anything that was missed and is not dying down. It will take 2 weeks for Roundup / Glyphosate to take effect, so don't panic before then!

Don't let the spray drift onto anything you, or your neighbours!, want to keep.

Thanks for the info, read up about that glyphosate, I see different brands; I'll pick up some in b and q, and dose it on tonight, also, the cheaper option would be a watering can, but is the sprayer better do you think? Thanks

I would use a sprayer, easier to regulate how much you're putting on.

If it runs off then it doesn't get absorbed (it is neutralised on contact with the soil, so is NOT taken up by plant roots).

If you have only a small area then you can buy ready-mixed in a sprayer-type-container. Expensive for a large area though.

If you wind up using a watering can then a T-bar sprinkler may help

      This type of thing:

Isn't it now too late to spray as there isn't any leaves left? Just a putting a spanner in the works here.

Good point. Plants need to be actively growing for it to work. I would spray anyway, and then plan to spray-again in two weeks time to catch anything that was missed - I reckon that will also catch any fresh re-growth
