Just had a lovely day in the garden, have dug a patch that was all overgrown grass and planted 105 leeks. Gosh I hope they grow after all the hard work. My garden isn't really ready for planting yet but a neighbour opposite (bless his heart) keeps bringing me plants over. So far I have planted shallots, brussel sprouts, green beans, and now leeks. My partner has got 9 tomato plants in.

All this and we are building an extension on the kitchen too so hopefully I can cook all these lovely veggies properly. :):):):)

Is it time now to plant leeks ? I've got a bit of empty ground... do you buy seeds, plants, or what ?

    Hi

errrrrrr lol if my friendly neighbour says it's time to plant leeks I just plant them :)

seriously though I have seen it on web sites that seeds are from May-June, and plant out July. Hope this helps. But this is my first year of gardening proper.

105 leeks gillcat! That is a lot, they are a nice veg to eat though.

ming; its too late to start them from seed, you will need to find some plants if you can.
