Asda vegetarian sausage mix (dry stuff, add water) reduced to 30p/pkt, so it appears as if it's being discontinued, which is a shame as it's as good as Sosmix (also discontinued some time ago) used to be. I cleared the shelf in Asda Falkirk earlier today. Use by date was Mar 2015. Good for veggie 'sausage' rolls.

Any chance of you staying in Falkirk Scrungee then perhaps some of us might be able to clear the shelves of bargains where we live:mute:

How to get 92% off fruit and veg at Morrisons!

Today (Thursday 3rd July) there's a voucher in the Sun (costs 40p) for £5 worth of fruit and veg at Morrisons. Cut it out from page 10, get £5 worth of fruit and/or veg in your basket and get it completely free, then repeat again, again and again. I've bought 30 copies of the Sun and just got back with a bootload of free stuff. Sacks of onions and potatoes, will last a while, fruit can be frozen and/or used for making wine.

We've already done 14 individual 'five pound' shops (between £5.04 and £5.30) paying between 4p and 30p for each one. Think we might need a bigger fruit bowl. What with going slightly over the £5 each time, I reckon we'll get around £160 of fruit and veg. for less than £20. The Sun is flying off the shelves at newsagents.

The vouchers are valid for up to and including Sunday 6th July.

No. Just keep doing multiple shops. All the T&Cs state is one coupon per transaction. After we'd done about a dozen separate shops we felt a bit weary and will do the same again a couple of more times before 4:00 pm Sunday to use the rest of our vouchers.

NB These vouchers can't be used in M Local stores and they aren't in copies of the Sun sold in Scotland.

I've also got all this useful newspaper for mulching and lining the hen's poo tray (I did remember to get our hens some cabbages and grapes).

Tip: If you're only a few pence short of £5 add a single loose carrot to your basket.

          EDIT: Breaking News!!!!!

Apparently, if you just have a couple of fruit/veg items in your shop + all sorts of other stuff to bring it just over £5, these vouchers will still work! Some stores are reported as checking receipts to verify whether £5 has actually been spent on fruit/veg. Oh what some naughty shoppers will get up to! (wish I'd got more than 30 now)

@Scrungee, I want to be your apprentice. :love30:

Are newspapers the place to find supermarket vouchers? Was beginning to think they weren't used in the UK. I look at store websites for their special offers but only Lidl take the trouble to circulate a weekly flyer in my area (NW Leics). The big supermarkets' loyalty schemes do my head in with minimum spends, etc.

They need to run promotions on actual groceries, as well as seasonal and speciality stuff. That would get my attention.

Rumours that Morrisons will be giving £5 off £10 meat spend in the Sun.

The Scottish editions had the fruit and veg voucher some weeks ago, and when we got ours, Scotland go the fish and meat vouchers. As they worked on reduced stuff, I'll be trying to get a few shops of £20's worth of fish reduced to £10, then use a voucher to get down to £5.

Now that Autumn's upon us, Mince Pie Season will be here soon and it's a good time to stock up with jars @ only 10p each from B&M. Cranberry & Port or Dark Chocolate flavours, both suitable for vegetarians.

P.S. They have a BB date of July 2014 but I don't take any notice of that.

                And there's always Mincemeat Wine!

The 3 for £10 packs of fish might be good value for £5 (forget how much is in them), or £20's worth of fish reduced to £10 for £5, and they have other fish on special offer. I was thinking of going fishing at the next spring tides, but now might go to Morrisons instead. Must get the freezers ready more more stuff.

Looks like Salmon with home grown fine French Beans and new potatoes (Charlottes) will be on the menu Thursday evening.

I don't eat meat (other than fish) but is 3 whole chickens for £5.40 (£5 + 40p for a Sun) cheap? (2nd item in above link)

Some controversy about print dates for Morrisons and Aldi vouchers, best to check papers as may be Thursday 31st July for either.
