    Hi All

My parents recently bought a Hibiscus (Bordeaux) from a good garden centre, they keep it indoors in their kitchen, so its pretty warm, good sunlight and kept moist. It seems very happy to produce buds yet only 1 has ever opened to shows its flower and that only lasted about 2days, in general the buds grow to about 2" just showing their colour and then fall off !!

Is there any reason for this, would it be much happier grown outside in more soil etc ??

    Thanks
    John

John Hibiscus bordeaux H. moscheutos is one of the swamp hibiscus and is fully hardy and should be planted outdoors, plant it in a sunny position water regularly don't let the soil dry out,it will die back to the ground in winter and come back the following year in late spring.
