    No not me :(

Perhaps they realised the quality of my postings isn't going to make me rich?

    :)

Or more importantly ( in their eyes ) make them rich..

No such thing as a free lunch, never has been....never will be. and I suspect that there would be a catch somewhere.

Years ago I was flattered when a site advised me to enter their competition with a photo of mine (one of my favourite shots). Surprise surprise it won, but I had to go to the states to collect my prize. Further to that my entry was to be published in a book which I could purchase for £XXX. I told them where they could store the book, prize and emailings but I continued to receive mailings from them for three years..and other sites too where I had magically "won" competitions I had not even entered.

Sorry kristen to higack this a little, but I would suspect a similaar thing to happen if you did write for them. "Your words have been placed in a book and is priced at £XXX if you would like to purchase it....."

    Steve...:)

The funniest one ever (and I say funny because I can't believe some people are so gullible) was something I saw on TV a while book. Several people had bought properties in Cyprus without even having been to the island to have a look, or consulted a solicitor. Naturally they lost their money. Then some of them got a letter claiming to be from the cypriot authorities saying they'd caught the crooks and could give them their money back, if they paid £10,000 in administration costs. Some paid it and lost that too. With that level of naivity about it is no wonder we get so much spam from all sorts of sources. You only need a handful of people that gullible to make it very lucrative and worthwhile for conmen to keep trying.

Incidentally, I once read a statistic that of those spam emails we all get asking for our bank details or trying to sell us the latest hair regrowth, instant muscle, become irresistible to ladies or illixir of youth product, only one in 100,000 people fall for it, but that tiny percentage is still enough to make it worthwhile for the scammers.

I do believe I know to who you are refering Steve.
This crowd would publish a book (coffee table book) with your picture in it for £xxx. problem was it would be published in only one book and that would be the one you recieved! Not illegal, but getting very close to it.
For years I have beed invited to USA to few my pictures on display. Once again for £x

"Sorry kristen to higack this a little"

No apology needed !!! I have ignored it, along with all the other junk I get. Now ... if they want to pay per-click for a link from MY BLOG that would be a different matter (and you lot would be welcome to click through to your hearts content, and I would then host the free-beer party on the proceeds!!!)
