Anyone ID this caterpillar ?

Almost stepped on this during a walk on Saturday. It was tearing along a gravel track, on one side of the track was heather and heath and on the other side pine trees. I've looked it up in a leaflet our son has but can't see anything that matches exactly.

This is going slightly off topic but talking about pine trees and caterpillars. When I lived at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus there use to be, "The Pine Processionary Caterpillar."



They're poisonous and had nests in these trees.

Blind, we saw these all over the pine trees when we went up to the Troodos Mountains in January. I have a pic posted somewhere on here.

I think the Pine Processionary can be a major health hazard for pines and I'm sure I've read about it appearing in parts of the UK.

 

Pretty caterpillar but eeeewww on the nest picture though.
We get lots of them here in Ontario.
