I had this idea of buying a really cheap second hand petrol lawn mower and then painting some really hideous colours, luminous pink comes to mind and seeing if it walks.

... and a couple of other things if you are lucky enough to be given a choice:

Avoid any tree shaded plots, it might not be apparent looking at them in winter time if the trees are deciduous.

Choose one with an existing shed and/or rabbit netting (that's essential around us - maybe not for you).

Still haven't heard a bean from the other two, so the only two replies I've got seems to be my only hope.

If I'm successful, then it's a case of if no shed, buying the cheapest small shed, enough to shelter in if it rains or should I say when! And if I keep anything out there make sure it's items that are easily replaced, don't cost a lot and I'm not going to cry my eyes out over the loss...

Ah, the police advice seems that they haven't quite thought it through, as yes it's one thing marking your street no and post code on any kit in your garden shed, get's nicked from here burglar Bill already knows your home address.. Now that's fine advice for me marking my tools even though I'm maybe keeping them in an allotment shed, after all if burglar Bill wants to venture around to my place... He's then got to decide if my two German Shepherd's are friendly or not!

Last wanna be burglar Bill that ventured into my back garden in the middle of the night, didn't hang around to find out how friendly the German Shepherd that was going ballistic behind the patio door! I only just got out onto the landing when I saw him/her legging it up the road as some fast pace through out landing window!
