I currently have a Laneii moss rose growing in a raised bed over some trellis in my back garden. It was there when I moved here 13 years ago and I love it for its beautiful flowers and wonderful scent, even though it's short-lived. I'm awaiting a quote for landscaping as the previous owners paved the whole garden and it's a total mess now and I can't stand looking at it any longer! The rose is the only plant I'd be very upset to lose, so I was hoping to get some advice on how I can save it. I've tried propagating it in the past without success, though I believe it is difficult to propagate and I'm pants at it anyway. As it's in a raised bed, do you think there's any chance of being able to move it? I have no idea how deep the roots go. The only alternatives would be to keep the raised bed and landscape around it or just buy a new plant.

I can,t give you any guarantees But I would only attempt to move It if there was no other choice, and then I would Root prune it ,13 years is very well established and the root system of an established rose is deep, with a taproot that often has its feeding, fibrous roots many feet from the base of the plant.Hope this has been of some help:)

If you need to get another one ,you can purchase one at Peter Beale's Classic Roses

Thanks, WOO. It's been established more than 13 years as it was there when I moved in. As it's in a raised bed, it has at least been restricted, root-wise, but I suspect I'll end up deciding to leave it where it is and work around it. And it only flowers for about a month or so!
