A little update the bushes which ran along the side of the path are now just roots, so if the weather is nice for a few evenings this week I shall be removing the roots, this should be a lovely task [emoji17]

It's male urine that burns grass, not so much of a problem with a female. There is rocks that you can buy to put into your dogs drinking water that is supposed to neutralise their urine, but never tired it so don't know if it works.

Ollie, I'd advise when digging out roots, don't jump on the spade! I did this a few years ago, trying to get a yucci type plant out that had keeled over in a well established boarder... Foot slipped, the hand of the spade hit/scraped into the inside of my thigh/leg....

The pain was horrible, it felt that like I was bleeding, I'm stood their thinking, I'm home a lone we only just moved in and the phone hadn't been connected yet, could I drive the car down to our small injury unit finally I found the courage to look down... Thankfully no blood spurting, but I had ruptured a large vain in my leg... so painful congealed large lump of blood under the skin and an interesting period of time watching it go from black through to various shades of mauve then to yellows before finally disappearing ..........

The dogs are being trained to only do their business in the back garden, so hopefully that will be a good thing, and I have been jumping on the space I'll admit that, I now have another 3 roots to remove, it's going to be hard work but it will be worth it :) I hope

That's not been my experience, the Dogs only tinkle so they can mark multiple spots, and they rarely go on the lawn preferring a bush somewhere to the side, whereas the Bitches squat down and dump their whole, concentrated, load in one spot ...

I've heard about Dogrocks (or whatever they are called) and putting tomato juice in their food ... I've not read if either works, but I had read that some of the "solutions" are designed to make the acidity of the Dog's pee more alkaline, which helps the grass, but that that is a bad idea (can lead to cystitis), although the article did say that feeding a dog dry food can make the pee more acid (less liquid in the diet I suppose) and thus a non-dry food diet might help somewhat.

Chucking a bucket of water where they pee is definitely a solution ... but ... you have to see where they pee for that to be any good as a solution! Mine use a specific area of the garden and I keep the grass long there.
