I may have gone overboard with the bulbs this year

I have stored in a paper bag the alliums and tulips last year which include some white and purple alliums and queen of the night tulips and cartouche tulips

I have then ordered the 100 alliums for the price of postage on gardeners world which include
    Caeruleum (10 bulbs)
    Christophii (3 bulbs)
    Neapolitanum (20 bulbs)
    Sphaerocephalon (44 bulbs)
    Ostrowskianum (20 bulbs)
    'Purple Sensation' (3 bulbs)

I then forgot I had pre ordered lots from Yougarden so these were delivered

    2 x Tulip "Grand Perfection" - 15 bulbs
2 x Tulip Flaming Flag Size -12 bulb
    2 x Tulip Blue Diamond Size - 12 bulb
    2 x Tulip "Canasta" - 10 bulbs
Allium christophii Size - 10 bulb
Allium "Purple Sensation" - 12 bulbs
Allium "Mount Everest" - 2 bulbs

then I also ordered their pack of 150 bulbs with 150 free which includes

Anemone 'De Caen' Mixed x 50 bulbs
Tall Tulips 'Triumph' Mixed x 25 bulbs
    Allium Mixed x 50 bulbs
Dwarf Narcissi 'Tete a Tete' x 25 bulbs
    Chionodoxa Mixed x 50 bulbs
Iris 'Dutch' Mixed x 50 bulbs
    Muscari Mixed x 50 bulbs

may have got slightly carried away and I'm not sure i have enough garden for them.
but at least i wont be panicking come november that no where has any bulbs lol

Think i'm just going to throw them all in my big flower bed so they are all mixed up and just plant them where they land

so who else is all ready and prepared?

You're going to have a fantastic display Dips:dancy:...

I've yet to get round to bulbs as I have a squirrel problem which are intent on digging them up:rolleyespink:
But there are so many lovely ones out there so it won't be long before I'm ordering too many:doh::biggrin: I'll keep them in pots though and plant the pots out once they start growing ,at least it'll give them a fighting chance:fingers crossed: I've got my eye on some pink ones ,forget the name now but they'll be lovely on mass:dbgrtmb:

I bought a batch of mixed tulips last year . I was very disappointed with them . They were cheap though ! We also had a bag of Triumph White Tulips - superb performers . So this year just going with the Triumph variety .

I've got loads of tulips/daffodils which I planted in containers and which will be going from containers into borders. I don't want any in containers this year so not planning to buy any more (famous last words) :snork: although if I do then they will definitely be going in the ground.

      ah everyones bulbs sound great

jenny that must be a nightmare with squirrels. Im so glad squirrels don't tend to go on the ground in my garden then prefer to tease my cats from the neighbours big trees

merleworld that is going to be hard work resisting any new ones. I almost pick dup some crocus bulbs yesterday to plant in the lawn but managed to refrain. this time!

I added up all my bulbs yesterday its 522! 174 are alliums and 123 are tulips lol its going to be a big job planting them all

I've got my bulbs, I think I may have gone a bit overboard, too! I was also guilty of 'forgetting' about one batch I'd pre-ordered, before ordering another! I'm also awaiting the 100 free allium bulbs from Gardeners World, but I also have (I typed up the names as I unpackaged them earlier, so please forgive any typos, these names are as they appeared on the labels). I haven't counted them!

        allium oreophilum
        anemone blanda gemengd
        chionodoxa forbesii
        bot. crocus gemengd
        tulipa mixed
        narcissus tete a tete
        allium aflatunense
        tulip queen of the night
        fritillaria imperialis
        allium special mixed
        anemone blanda
        daffodils white marvel
        allium sphaerocephalon drumsticks
        narcissus rip van winkle
        hyacinthus gypsy queen

There's a few from last spring too, hidden in one of my pots that I'm hoping will come back from another year (I didn't dry them out, should I have done?)

When is everyone planning on planting their bulbs out?

Not YET, still debating my list. Need more blue color, and want Alliums mostly, the later the bloom the better.
Been planting about a Thousand bulbs every year for the past 25 years in this property, and of course in the spring, digging and splitting many more. We estimate about 60,000 bulbs and climbing.
I get my bulbs from Van Engelen Inc. a good wholesale place.

I've finally got around to ordering some Tulips...100 Viridflora 'Spring Green',I'll be planting them in individual pots:rolleyespink: (yes I know that sounds like madness)but I'll keep them in a safe place to keep them squirrel free and then plant them out when they have chance to grow,Plus I like to dig them up as I don't like to have to wait for them to die back into the ground, too messy:rolleyespink:

I hope they do OK. Snowdrops don't like drying out ... but hopefully they are freshly harvested, rather than stored. (My advice would be to plant them first :) )

P.S. if you want a large area of Snowdrops then I have been very happy with the service from https://eurobulbs.co.uk/ amd found their prices cheap for large bulk purchases (£70/1,000 for plain snowdrops) - although looks like G. elwesii is cheaper at Anglia Bulbs :)

Thanks Kristen. Had a look at their site and despite being called eurobulbs they only seem to deliver in the UK. I'll maybe give their customer services a ring and see if that is the case.
