    Hatches are battened Loli! :)

Luckily most of the gales tend to hit us from the south-west which hits my bungalow side on. My neighbours house gives us some protection but it's my greenhouse I have to worry about.

We used to get these high winds in January but in recent years they seem to have moved to October.

I blame sprouts for that!
      Trending, Sheal: trending. ;)
You see, in October, pumpkins are to blame and that is the result of Globalisation: we've inherited American customs and October is ripe for pumpkins: pumpkin seeds, pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie (yes, yes, I do remember you don't cook - but you Dubai! <---- gotta lurve spellchecker :roflol:)

BTW: did you watch something called Len's Holidays on BBC1 today? Dave Myers featured (Hairy Bikers fame) and it was based on his childhood memories of a holiday at IoM. I think I saw you in a background shot  (or three!) :dbgrtmb: - but, as I don't know what you look like, I may have been mistaken :th scifD36: :noidea:

Well I for one haven't had any sprouts for a while! :heehee:

I've never tasted pumpkin and certainly wouldn't have a clue how to cook it. :doh:I bake "M", it's preparing meals I can't stand. In fact recently I've discovered bread pudding, my mum used to make it when we were young from a war time recipe but unfortunately it's now locked away in her mind (Alzheimers) sadly. I found a recipe that is very close to the one she made and I'm hooked! :)

I haven't got a television but by coincidence I was at my daughter's this afternoon and my grandson came across it whilst flipping channels, so we sat and watched it. :) Nahhh, you wouldn't have seen me, I'm to ugly for camera, why d'you think I'm always behind the lens!
There was some dodgy camera work going on too, showing us places that weren't where they said they were......that really annoys me!

If you can bear to look, I think my mug shot's on page 17 of 'Faces to Names'.

That reminds me of when Hardeep Singh did his TV series about the best drives in England. They showed him driving all over the country and he gave the road number of the prettiest road to drive on in the Lake District. Apart from it not being the prettiest, the road he was driving on wasn't the road he mentioned. I did email them and ask whether I get a prize for spotting the deliberate mistake :heehee:. They didn't reply!

Around this time of year you mustn't mention Guy!! :yikes: :nonofinger: :roflol:

It was windy during the early hours but the wind suddenly disappeared at 5.10 a.m. Maybe it's the eye of the storm!

Very blustery for us at the moment here in the Midlands and the rain is even getting battered so it is swirling round our lampost light as I stood on the doorstep watching it :snork:

Hopefully we shall all escape this hurricane tail end with not much damage to life or structural damage.:love30:

A bit wild wet and windy but not severely so. One or two tree branches look a bit suspect out there but no pots over. Barometer = 75 .8 millibars ATM,
