Not sure if it's something I've done here (deleted a load of internet files) but I have tried to log in several times, asked for my password to be reset several times and once logged on, tried to change my password to something I'll remember! When I close down the forum and reopen it, I still have to log in, despite clicking "remember me" box and this still doesn't work.

Is there a problem here or is it something I've done?

I usually stay logged in too, but had an IT issue here and when I restarted all my passwords had disappeared. I tried it again now and it worked, but before I closed down I changed my password to something else and that worked. Odd

I don't think it's a 'site' problem, ie, GC ... but I could be wrong, me being the technophobe of the site .... :hehe:

Remember me always works for me ... but then again, maybe I'm memorable ... slap hands Vicky ....

I know you've had other 'issues' computerwise Aaron ... but I know where you are so you are not lost in cyberspace and we can send a search party out for you .... xx

Well it's fine again now. Possibly a combination of IT issues at home and here. Bizarrely, it didn't recognise my password even after I changed it...

It sounds to me like it is an issue with cookies, but I'm just guessing.

Can you delete the cookies for a single site I wonder?

Maybe you have "Delete cookies when close browser" set? (but that would forget your settings for every site you use I would expect)

OH is an IT bod. We've been having issues with the ISP which are slowly being resolved but last night I deleted all temporary internet files and after that had the problem.

It's back to normal now and at work it's fine so hopefully it's resolved itself.

:flag:Like Vicky says, it isn't a GC problem Aaron.. We know allot of you did suffer from this problem for a while, but thankfully it wasn't GC that was the problem, that we do know..:thmb:

It is usually down to a cookie problem as Kristin says... I would defo clear your cookies out Aaron..
If ever I have had a log in problem it has always been down to cookies.. Do you use Firefox or Opera Aaron rather than IE for forum use.? As they are both very secure & will remember your passwords...

Although I have Firefox, I use IE for GC and have never had any problems. The only time I did was when I was shut out for a couple of days when we changed to vBulletin.

I'm also using Vista and have no problems with it ... maybe I'm just lucky.

I don't know about cookies ... they are sweet things you eat, aren't they? :hehe:

Don't use either, just IE. It's all fine now - probably a local issue here. We've had ISP issues which are now resolved.

Thanks everyone for advice though :)
