Temp plunging to 2 deg and will go lower. Looks like the first frost of the winter. I've covered some of my tender plants with blankets and whatever is in pots has gone into the greenhouse.

White frosty dusting on the rooves but once the sun falls on them, it is quickly disappearing. Patio thermometer says 5C now,

Very frosty but brilliant sunshine  I'm watching the sun causing steam to rise from the euonymous outside my office window.

Just a touch of frost first thing, as I walked down the hill to the station it seemed a lot worse, cars white over and puddles frozen. Now the sun has come out and it's a lovely crisp morning.

Frost in the early hours but had risen to 5c by 8am, still hard enough to kill most of the Coleus and burn the tops of the Triphylla Fuchsias and Begonia Gryphon. As the night temps will be back to 7c plus I am not digging anything up for overwintering (yet!)
