I realise this might be a bit limited as to who amongst us actually travels the M25.

But it was my miss fortune to travel along the part past Clackets services the other day.
This part has been plagued by roadworks for the last three or four years, so called "upgrading it to 4 lanes".
What a complete disappointment, putting it mildly.

There is now no hard shoulder, just a lay by every now and then, with a phone.
Not sure how the emergency services use that in order to get to an incident?

But I was totally amazed at the road surface, it was diabolical bearing in mind it was supposed to be new, and its taken four years to lay it.

It composes of burnt off white lines all over the place, totally awful, in lane 3 in both directions there seems to be this joint in the tarmac for about 20 miles that lines up with you near side wheel, so this lane is a no go, long term.

We have waited four years four this?
I'm sure it will be down for resurfacing within a couple of winters, its a total dodge job.

Yep that's the concrete section a bit further round, a total disaster, it takes them ages to build this stuff for millions of pounds, and its mostly rubbish.
Although having said that, this particular bit does appear to be a bit ancient, the concrete sections are really good for road noise.

Well luckily we visited my Brother et family in Cobham Surrey last weekend and the M25 was a dream coming and going , so we missed the M25 disaster yesterday . But as the great being that rules us must even things up , so we never actually win . Coming home yesterday up the M6 Warrington to Wigan , some inconsiderate lorry driver let his vehicle catch fire . The M6 was closed and all traffic was taken off the motorway to grid lock hell ! I made a smart diversion towards Liverpool - another huge jam on the M57 and got home after 3 and a half hours . These things do make sinking a few beers really good though

I was lying in the grass by a river, as I lay, the river turned to a sea and the sand was burning....

Now there's someone who knows how to deal with a useless motorway.

                          Spontaneous combustion?

The M25 has got to be the worst road in Britain in all respects. I was reared in Essex and used that nightmare on a regular basis. :doh:Thankfully now it's only once every few years.
