    :hehe: true, very true.

Good point water garden thanks, I guess I don't mean they have to exactly match but I wondered if too many different types of stone in such a small area might look a little odd.
Anyway, will look through what stones we do have and put a pic up of what I decide on.
Thanks everyone for the ideas, much appreciated here :thumb:

:hehe: of course it does Sam :luv:

Thanks Penny, I haven't had time to do any more - To get the bags of rocks and stones 3 wheelie bins have to be pulled out of the side passage so I need OH- he does the heavy work :hehe:

Will post a pic when it is finished. The plants are doing well though even though they had to tolerate all being moved!

Each to their own, but to be frank I don't think plastic waterfalls ever look realistic.

But if you're happy with what you've got; "look away now."

So here's a suggestion. Have you any pool liner left?

A much more realistic looking waterfall can be achieved by using a piece of pool liner. This has to be turned up on the three sides away from the pool, to retain the water by folding it over some rocks and covering the folded over bit with more rocks to keep the liner in position and hide it. You can also put some smaller rocks or pieces of stone under the liner towards the back to make a "fall." Then the middle bit can be filled with different sized pieces of rock or flat stones and small pebbles to make any sort of shape of cascade you like, hiding the liner.
You can make a small hole near the top of the liner at the back of the cascade and attach the hose from the filter with a "tank fitting," securing the hose to a stake or wedge it between two rocks. You can put a larger flat stone over the back edge of the cascade protruding a bit over it to hide the hose and where the water comes in. You can dress it up further back to make the water appear to be seeping through some rocks, you seem to have quite a few.

You can move the rocks in the cascade around whilst running the water until you visually like the look and I think an important element, particularly the "sound" of the cascade. Over time even the bits of liner you can see will go green and become even less noticable. The rocks that make up the edge of your cascade will soon attract moss and make it look more natural. If you are using newer rocks, paint them with natural yoghurt, that soon attracts moss. You've some nice rocks there with which you can edge your cascade. It will look far more realistic than whatever you do with what you've got. You can make these things look quite artistic with a bit of experimentation, or if you like "trial and error" and it'll be all your own work.
