I get 10% off on Debenhams gift card purchases, so I can't get a refund on those unfortunately. Currys (where I also get 10% off) have it priced at £849 vs £582 from Debenhams (Samsung UE50H6400).

I don't think there could have been many real bargains to be had, otherwise our friend @Scrungee would have filed a full report by now !

Mr Kandy tried to get on the Tesco Direct site all day yesterday trying to find a price for an item and the site was down and last night I had the same problem with the Argos one

They interviewed one lady who had been standing outside the door since something after five (must have been Asda) and she said she was after a TV. When they caught up with her some time later she was wheeling out a trolley with not one but two very large TV's.Hope she had got plenty of room in her house to put them

Just shows how greedy man/woman has got in these days of Austerity

That wouldn't work, the first 20 people in would get the pick of the 'bargains' the crowd would never stand for that!!

 

Since when did this Black Friday malarkey hit the UK? I didn't know what the .... it wasn't until 2 days ago that I heard of it's existence. I saw on TV the disgusting exhibitions of frenzied shoppers in supermarkets in Glasgow and Dundee...totally ashamed to be Scottish. Maybe it was as bad in the rest of The UK? Oh boy it just reminded me why I look forward to Boxing Day. Not a lot of "good will to all men " going on while The Christmas shopping was being done!

 

It makes sense to me to hold the sales before Christmas day as people are still in that excessive spending mode.

People go nuts with their spending at Xmas and adding a sale to that will more havoc as more people have the money to spend.
