I've had niggling pain in my right foot for a few months now, ever since I ploughed it through a board. Seems to be getting worse lately though.

Been on t'interweb. All the symptoms and things point to a stress fracture. What do we reckon the chances are of an actual GP diagnosing it? I have a feeling it would be a waste of everyone's time if I went. I suspect I'd come away with ibuprofen gel and the advice to rest for a while, which I'd rather not do because I've worked hard over the last few months to get some of my fitness back following illness and I don't want to lose it all again. But then I think if I keep training on it, I might end up with long term injuries. Not sure what to do, I'm thinking of burying my head in the sand and putting up with it. thing is though I have a clicky thumb ligament even now, nearly 25 years after I smashed it and then didn't seek medical advice until a full year later.

Go to your local walk in centre, or a&e outside of peak times. They will x ray it and go from there.

If that's not possible just tell your doctor that you want an x-ray.
