I agree with most of what's been said. He was a brilliant artist and imo better than Paul McCartney, and I loved the Beatles. Obviously very troubled in his life as so many people who seem to have everything are. So much that you read about people are speculation, lies or have cruel intentions I don't know what to believe anymore.

Of course it all depends on what your personal preferences are but I can appreciate the skills of others even if I'm not particularly interested in it.

Did you know that he didn't 'create' the moonwalk? But once again, he took something & made it his own.

What? Have I used the wrong word? Don't know anything about Billy Ocean and it.

The 'moonwalk' was being done by kids on the street of America and a choreographer taught Michael Jackson it. He used the spin & the hitched trousers to make it his own.

I remeber from my younger years there was a long running argument about who did it first-Jackson or Ocean. I can't be sure of this but the hitching of the trousers stems from the musicals of the fifties. It is all anecdotal of course. I was born in the 70s so I get all my musical education from smash hits mags lol. And of course, my Mum who taught me to love lyrical songs~Donovan, Dylan Beatles etc

 

You can't blame him for the media.
It's what the people ,his fans want after all.
It will last a few weeks and like all the other stories will drift into the background.
He was a superb show man.
Great singer and dancer.
I love his work.

 

A brilliant performer he was. No argument there If he had been ordinary Joe he would have been in jail and been on the sex offenders register. I cannot understand the outpouring of grief over this dysfunctional pervert. His fame and money hid a lot. He may have been abused as a child but that is no excuse for him abusing children as a man. No one can blame others for their actions. You are responsible for what you do and how you live. Child abusers make me sick. There is NO excuse in heaven or earth. The parents of these children have a lot to answer for. They were quite happy to take the compensation. That speaks volumes

 

I don't quite understand that - a child who is abused, grows up thinking that this behaviour is the norm, so how, without guidance and the right environment, can a child 'turn it around for good'. They can't. There needs to be intervention at some point, or a pretty darned bright light turned on in the person's head. A child, like anybody, will deal with things the best way they know how - and this will vary greatly depending on personality. All his life, MJ has had people telling what to do etc., why would he be thinking he had any other choices when it came to abuse? To him, it was likely normal - again, if in fact it occurred.

Do we actually KNOW 100% that he was a sexual predator? I don't....I know what the papers reported, what the tv said, but they always go for hype and drama. Would you as a parent accept any amount of money and make the accusation of sexual predator go away at the cost of your child's childhood? Any parent who would accept cash in lieu, is in fact an abuser themselves. I couldn't really see any parent going along with that, unless of course, the abuse never took place - in which case, the parent is truly an abuser of their own child.

Yes, MJ was strange, weird even - but no evidence to suggest he was any weirder than any eccentric - just happens that this one was famous, wealthy and a good headline grab for the media.

Personally - I don't mourn him, I appreciated his music, but as a person - I dont know him, so will not mourn his loss.

 

Thank you for the music Michael - He really was an all rounder - so many things he did to make the world smile - However, think it is really important to not forget the great work he did for charity. Not only was Michael an extremely talented musician who contributed enormously to the world of entertainment but he also used his fame and fortune to bring great causes the to the attention of the world. That is something that Send a Cow (http://www.sendacow.org.uk) thinks is just as amazing as his music! He especially recognized the poverty of families and children in Africa and his song earth song highlights this. God bless you MJ with another long and successful life x

 

As far as being a sexual predator.........................I am not sure at all.


Honestly ask yourself, if your child had been sexually abused could you be bought off?? Is there actually a price for your child??



I couldn't be-the offender would be a dead man, my husband would literally tear his limbs from his body and beat him to death with them, he most certainly wouldn't cash his cheques, and to me, my children come without price tags; expense accounts that would make an MP proud-yes, but not price tags.

That's why I don't trust the allegations.

 

I heard that the child that he had supposed to have abused refused to testify against MJ and in one of the interviews they showed on the telly over the weekend he said he had paid the family the money because he had had enough of being hounded by the media over something that wasn't true.It was also said at the time of the case that this family just wanted to get as much money as they could out of the singer

Surely if he had been a child abuser then wouldn't his own three children have been given back to their own mother to have been brought up.Any proper Judge would have done that.I think the media has got a lot to answer for in all of this but while people are willing to believe all that they see in print then things will never change.One reason why I gave up buying newspapers,because I was sick of all the lies they keep printing about people.

Interesting though, I remember my grandad telling me that what we called breakdancing.....chaka khan in the 80s stuff was actually really old stuff. Didn't believe him at the time silly girl that I am.
