Please help, I love to have cut dhalias in the house, but they are always full of Earwigs.
As my dhalias are not in bud yet, now would seem the best time to prevent earwigs from taking up residence. Has anyone any tips on how to go about it?

When I was a kid my father grew Chrysanthemums. Each was tied to a long cane (taller than the plant) and at the top he put a half open matchbox. It was my job every morning to empty the matchboxes which were full of earwigs and kill them. They seem to like to climb and seek out dark places to hide.
