Not an area I'll be involved in but I hope it all works well for those who use it.

    Good luck.

The name offends me LMRR so I cannot use it, I do however hope its a success for those who use it and I respect the choice of those who voted for it.

Hi Dee and thanks for asking.

I've written more than enough about it in this topic and to be honest I think people are fed up of me spouting off on the subject. I can pm my thoughts to you if you wish to hear them but I dont think I'll discuss it anymore in public.

    Steve...:)

This is a great idea. Iâ??d support it because I have a disability, I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis and gardening is a perfect way to keep my joints in working order. Did a bit in the garden this afternoon and got backache for my trouble, but hey! No pain, no gainâ?¦

I'm disabled and I agree with you, Kristen. The word "disabled" or "disability" would be what I'd use in a search, for example. I don't see why anyone would be insulted by these words or any like them.

A one-stop-place for people like myself would be great, instead of searching through the forums. That doesn't mean we're excluded in any way from the threads not relating to disability, no sane person would think that. It just means there are particular threads that people like myself would like to find sooner rather than later. So, yes, one easy-to-find forum for users like me would be wonderful.

For the person who asked if Kristen had spent a day in a wheelchair, Steve, I think it was? I don't use a wheelchair, but I'm disabled. I don't need to confine myself to a chair for the day to wonder what it's like for someone in that position. Just as I don't expect them to get out of their chair to experience my disability. Don't be so touchy :)

I'm disabled, and old, so gardening can be a struggle. Weeding is one of the worst parts of it, as well as bending,
My problem, mainly, is that I have a garden which is a mix of slabs, tarmac and Gravel with a 1.25 (approx ) retaining wall with a few shrubs intent on taking over! It's also on a fairly gentle hill. The lowest part is at the front.
The land behind the retaining wall is approx half of the back garden. What I would like to do is to resite the retaining wall (so that it still retains the higher land), but gives me more space to garden. It is cracking so I need to organise it before I end up with the neighbours' bungalow in my garden too!
What I am thinking of is to bring the outer edges of the wall in about a metre, then curve the wall, so it is in compression, in order to support the higher ground and the bungalow behind, but at the same time giving a bit more space at my ground level. Also a walkway for workmen to deal with fences, etc.
I'd also like to lift a few slabs to make planting pockets, and just make the place more inviting! At my level.

What do you folk think? I have a new Smartphone, so I haven't worked out how to add photos yet!

    Cheers, Midori
