On sunday I realised my lovely honeysuckle is absolutely covered in flies/eggs. In places i can see greenflies and other places I have seen blackflies.

There must be a thousand eggs/flies and although I sprayed the best I could on sunday it has made no difference so far :(

This was planted about 4 years ago and its the first year I have had any decent flowers off it .... and they are all covered in flies :(

This is how it looked before

    Any suggestions ?

Am worried the flies are going to spread to everything else in the garden .... so ................ do I spray again and see how it goes :cnfs: or chop it all down to limit the damage it does to the rest of the garden ? :(

It makes me itch as soon as I see it  Although I have had a few greenflies before ..... nothing like this. Its like its completely infested :(

That's a horrible infestation of Black Fly Sam. What a shame.Since you sprayed it are the flies dead. If not spray them again then once dead try washing them off with a hose. Or cut off the worst affected bits.

Am going to spray the honeysuckle again today and see what its like by the weekend. The worst affected bits are all the flowers, so If i cut them all off I will have no blooms left :(

I did try spraying it on the 'jet' setting on the hose but it didnt seem to budge any of the eggs. Its like they are glued on :(

    Grrrrrrrrrr
