Hi from the Canary Islands - Spain

I'm planning on starting my own small scale, back yard nursery / vegetable garden and thought joining here for advice seemed like a good idea.

Hi Sky,I have been to the Canaries a few times and have often wondered how anything grows there it's so hot.
It must be a whole different ball game to find the shade and water.
Of course if growing exotic plants you certainly have the upper hand.
Good luck anyway........it would be nice to see a picture of your challenge.

I'm on fuerteventura. It's laid back and quite windy. My back yard is tiled so everything is gonna have to be grown in containers. I believe this will conserve water (could be wrong) but to add a way to reuse the water I might set them in some sort of other container when watering and use them on my huge bougainvillea tree.

This ix the space ill be working in. I don't know how I'm going to arrange it yet and it needs a clean up. I'm just waiting for a sunny day. I'm off work tomorrow so might do it then.

Welcome to GC Sky Garden. That looks like a good project. I'm sure there are plenty of people on here who can give you advice with how to organise the containers for maximum water efficiency.
