Anyone tried this? I recently bought Rain X 2 in 1 spray as it seemed my wipers weren't doing a good enough job despite looking in good shape. Results were questionable, so I bought a new set of wipers (they needed renewing anyway) but without much improvement.

I'm really not sure about the results despite having seen them getting excellent reviews online. The major problem I find is that the screen immediately after the wiper has passed over it is temporarily 'foggy' and then clears fairly quickly but is disconcerting nonetheless. The other thing I noticed is that at night oncoming car lights seem to be amplified and 'starry' even when its not raining - not sure if this is possible or just me looking for issues.

Anyone use this stuff? Any thoughts?

    Cheers
    GG

I had some years ago, as you say it does appear foggy in damp weather & at low speed, I found it got worse the longer it was on , needing regular applications to improve it . I really liked the fact you could drive along at 70mph in heavy rain & didn't need the wipers on though.
Never bothered to get a second lot.

I've used it, and for the most part I find it quite effective. The downside, imo, is that once applied the screen needs a vigorous clean to get rid of the smears.

For that product to work your screen needs to be extremely clean before application . Polishing the glass with cerium oxide is the best way to restore the glass to an optically clean state.

I don't know how true this is although someone might care to try it, but somebody told me that urine has a similar effect and that if you are ever caught in a rainstorm and your wipers pack up, this is a good back up!!!

          Ok, might try it.
Standing on the roof to do the application might be a bit embarrassing if its daylight.

I use it and find it very good. The screen must be really clean (as said before) although all I used was Lidl glass cleaner. The wipers must be really clean too before they are used. Over 30/35mph the wipers are not needed except in truly torrential rain.

                This is what I use.............

Mr Sheen for the bike visor back in the day was really good but there are no wipers on a visor :snork:
