    Good Morning everyone,

Loli, glad the hens are laying. Shiney glad you have found someone to look at your bathroom. Hope H enjoys her day out and feels better for it.

Lili, Good to see you sorry to hear Fred is a bit poorly. He is a good age and no doubt has had a good life.

WOO, no luck with your ring yet? Fingers still crossed.
Have a good day all, God bless.:wub2:

      Morning All...

At the moment its dry but looking out to sea I think we are going to have some soup soon. There is supposed to be sun later so we shall see.

I have most of the outside work done now, and am now working out what I am going to grow where. As usual I will go a lot for veg and some plants although I do have restrictions as most of my growing is done in pots as the soil here is terrible. I am lucky enough to live opposite an ex farmer who gives a lot of help as to what to put in and when.

      Have a great Sunday Everyone

      Cheers

      Nigel

Hiya - with the 5x50Challenge you can raise funds for whoever you want, or just do it for fun - you pay £5 to join in and that goes towards the charities they choose. The link is here if you would like to take a look x http://www.5x50.org have a great Sunday.

          Aloha everyone,

Phil (our nephew who is a top class builder decorator and restores old buildings as well) is in and working on the bathroom - a lot more difficult than we thought! He's checked that the bath is not causing the problem. The half wall between the bath and shower (with the half wall of the shower fixed to it) has bowed quite badly.

All the tiles on the half wall (both sides) are cracked. He's had a devil of a time getting them off as they have been fixed very well. He still can't see why the wall has bowed as it's not wet and appears to be very thick marine ply (can't tell how thick because he can't get to it properly, yet)

The shower door is butted on to the half wall and he's now reading the hand book on the make of the shower as the door is a very fancy bi-fold type of door. If he can't work out how it's fixed he'll have to get a specialist shower fitter in.

He tells me that, although ply was the standard way of making the half walls, there is a new material for making the walls now. This looks as though it's going to take a few days at least! I'm already imagining that I not smelling too good :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

@Zigs you want to send your solar panels up to Shineyland. We're already coming up to almost 3kWh today. Yesterday we nearly reached 20 :blue thumb:

Morning good folks of GC. Hope our poorly folks are a step nearer feeling better. The sun is shining brilliantly here. The fox was roaming about the garden last night, I always know as I'd left a clothes airier out there and he knocked it over and a multitude of plant pots and such like. He's very messy and never puts anything back in the right spot! This is he: not in the least camera shy!

              image.jpg

I have informed Phil that I am having some gardening time today. Whether it will come to fruition or not is another thing, but it felt good while I was saying it!

Still excited for arrival of new propogator and also for April when I can plant things outside. The shelves in the spare room are groaning under the weight of plants now and I am frozen with fear incase they come crashing down when the cats are playing "wall of death chase" up there after lights out.

Hope everybody has a lovely day and you all get a share of this sunshine. Things are springing into life everywhere, nature is such a miracle, eh?

I am not saying they are no good but just be careful with the cheaper metal detectors. They make a hell of a noise and pick up very little. If you get one of them just to find the ring I imagine it might work though. I am guessing the ring is on the surface somewhere and in grass or soil, so before you start looking for the ring I would get another gold ring, put it on the ground on the same surface (remembering where you put it :snork: ) and go over it a few times with the detector. Then it will give you an idea to what kind of noise gold will give. All kinds of metal give a different kind of noise and the thickness of the metal makes a difference too. If you have ground with much iron in that will be difficult to detect but not impossible and you will want to differentiate between rubbish and what you are looking for.

I still think a member from a club will be the best option as they have top class machines costing several hundred and can notch out all metals except gold meaning if they find a signal it will be gold.

If the ring is somewhere in the grass I hope you find it before you get the mower out.

Metal detecting can be frowned on by some people and I find detectorists go out of their way to help others.

                Good Luck

                Nigel

                  Morning all!

Lolimac - where do you get your energy from - up around 4 a.m. and doing stuff!? [IMG]
You must be young and fit! :hapfeet:

I overdid it yesterday activity wise (hauling home heavy shopping + plants + bamboo bedhead!) so am too stiff to do much today....comes with getting old I think! Good excuse to take it easy and the weather looks overcast anyway. May do another watercolour painting later...if I can raise an arm to hold a paintbrush! :heehee:

LyndaG - looking at that fox, it begs for a caption!

I can see the fox saying "yes? you have a problem with me sitting here?"

                      Evening all

Didn't get a chance to get on here this morning as t'interweb was playing up so as it was a glorious day I spent all of it out in the garden instead, and out walking the dogs.

Love the fox pic Lynda, we don't see many round here despite loads of the villagers keeping chickens. Hope you got your garden time.

:grphg: to Liliana. It's so hard, isn't it? At least you know you've got a little bit of time left to spoil him. Thinking of you xx

Hope everyone has had a great Sunday
