So.... My partner Mike & I tie the knot in 2 weeks. We are having a rustic wedding here on our homestead and are mad busy getting everything ready for Marquees, campers, etc etc. We haven't finished yet but nearly ready lol

This is the ceremony site (without decorations) The tree is called a Totara and the archway was a branch Mike trimmed off it.... Perfect. The site is in our water wheel paddock.

Trust us to leave landscaping till last. But we needed to level out the ground for the Marquees which will connect to the garage.

Hooked up power, water, usable kitchen in the garage for campers/guests... We are off grid too!

I spend hours!!! Weed whacking our property, then Mike comes along on the ride on mower and mows it all (laughs). Lots of space for camping.

That brown bank we are going to build up with organic matter and cover to prepare for growing veggies next spring :)

This path is down right behind our house. It has a stream on the left of it where down further you can see glow worms at night. This path continues down into the bush. I thought I'd tidy it up for guests.

And here's a close up of the archway :)

                  Congratulations :yay:

I'm sure it's going to be a fantastic wedding and you're putting an enormous effort into it. :)

The Totara is a brilliant idea to incorporate in your ceremony.

It's a wonderfully impressive tree, although the leaves can be a bit rough.

Both that and the Kauri are fantastic trees. We went to the Kauri museum at Matakohe which, I think, is not too far from you.

Both trees grow to a phenomenal age

Beckie76, I will definitely share a few pics of the day :) We are expecting a cyclone this weekend so hopefully it's all clear by next weekend :)

Shiney, yes they are both beautiful trees. We have Puketi Kauri forest just across the way.

Thanks all. We've been together for nearly 25 years with 3 wonderful sons. The 2 oldest boys who are 23 & 17 will be walking me down the isle/path :) while our 3 yr old watches with Dad :)
