What the heck is this red thing ?

    I changed the leaking toilet cistern ball valve yesterday . A quick job only took 5 minutes . The arm is length adjustable with two little pins , no problem . But there is also a pin with a red cap on , as shown in photo , what on earth is this supposed to do ?

        Yes you swap it if your cistern isn't on mains pressure (there will be a white one inside the valve for high pressure).
