    Hi,

I have a privot hedge at the front of my house and recently it's become poorly. It's leaves have started to go a blotchy yellow colour, start to curl and then eventually drop off. It's hardly got any leaves on and I was wondering if somebody can tell me what they think could be wrong with it and what I need to do to ake it better?

    Many thanks,
    Steph

    Hi Steph

    Welcome to the forum.

Assuming that your hedge is well established and not just suffering from lack of water, it's not good news, I'm afraid.

When privet gets sickly and dies back, it's usually old age or honey fungus. If it's honey fungus, all you can do is dig out the infected plants and sterilise the soil. You'll need to do this or the disease will spread along the hedge and possibly affect nearby plants as well.

If it's old age, you'll need to dig the affected plants out anyway.
